About

The Mary From Dungloe International Arts Festival is a community based festival which has been held annually since 1967 in Dungloe, County Donegal.
It is family friendly with a wide variety of musical, cultural, child, sporting, artistic and novelty events. Irish diaspora communities from around the world, as well as Irish counties and towns, participate by nominating a young woman to represent their area.
The winner, crowned 'Mary From Dungloe' holds the title for a year and acts as an ambassador for the festival, Dungloe & Donegal.

The Master Of Ceremonies

Daniel O'Donnell has been a long-time host and ambassador of the Mary from Dungloe Festival.
As the festival's MC, Daniel has been a key figure in promoting the event and bringing together local communities and visitors from around the world. With his warm and engaging personality, he has played a vital role in creating a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere at the festival, which celebrates Irish culture and traditions.
His involvement in the Mary from Dungloe Festival has helped to make it one of the most popular events in Ireland's cultural calendar.

The Judges

Greg Hughes

Greg Hughes began presenting Highland Radio’s flagship morning show in 2017 and it has since enjoyed a continued growth in listenership. The Nine til Noon Show not only sets the news agenda for the Northwest but has regularly broken stories of national importance. The show is also broadcast on social media around the world with over 1,000,000 live minutes viewed month. Greg is also the Head of News at Highland Radio with the focus being on an accurate, balanced and fair service for the loyal listeners of the Northwest.

Crona Byrne

For over 50 years Dungloe has been our second home and a place we hold dearly to our hearts. Dad was a judge and now I am delighted to be a part of the festival. We currently live just outside Naas Co. Kildare while still running our Crèche "The Owl And the Pussycat Daycare" in Co. Tipperary

Celine Powell

Celine is our First ever Mary From Dungloe so has a lot of experience to bring to the judging panel. It is our honour and privilege to have her back on the panel this year.

Paddy Ferry

Original from Keadue, a few miles outside of Dungloe, Paddy has been involved in the festival for a long number of years. Having been a judge before and being part of the Edinburgh Selection Committee Paddy brings great qualities to the panel. It is great to have him on board again this year.

Máire McCole

Máire was the first Dungloe Mary to win the title in 1983, 40 years ago this year, and we are thrilled that she accepted the offer to be a Judge on our panel on this occasion. Máire has been a great supporter of the festival throughout these 40 years and it is great to have her on board with us this special year for her.
